Dr. Bill Bass, American forensic anthropologist, will present a program, “Forensic Law Enforcement Field Operations” at Goins Auditorium, Goins Building, Pellissippi State Community College, on Tuesday, February 21, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His talk will address research and field work throughout his career and more recently at the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center. Best known for his research on human osteology and human decomposition, he has also assisted federal, local, and non-U.S. authorities in the identification of human remains. He is the author of numerous best-selling books and will have some books for sale, which he will sign. Dr. Bass taught at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and though currently retired from teaching, still plays an active research role at the University of Tennessee Anthropological Research Facility, which he founded. The Facility is more popularly known as "The Body Farm," a name used by crime author Patricia Cornwell.
