Do you want to learn about the solar eclipse before it happens? Then come to the UT Arboretum to hear “A Day in the Dark! Solar Eclipse 2017!” presented by award-winning PBS science educator Janet Ivey. Syndicated on 140 public television stations throughout the U.S., “Janet’s Planet” has received 12 regional Emmys and five Gracie Allen awards. Sponsored by the UT Arboretum Society, this family friendly program for people of all ages will be held at the UT Arboretum Auditorium on Thursday, August 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by children’s craft activities from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. The auditorium is located at 901 S. Illinois Avenue in Oak Ridge. Janet Ivey, creator of “Janet’s Planet” is committed to enriching the lives of children via education and live performances, TV and online programming. With over 25 years in children’s entertainment and education, Janet has captivated Nashville and beyond with her work. She shares the joy of exploration and discovery with children around the globe. This program will be suitable for all ages. Seating at the auditorium is limited, so please plan to arrive early.
