Work environments are frequently built around team performance. Hence, the ability to lead groups to successful outcomes is crucial for managers across all industries. Although exemplary leadership characteristics often appear as in-born traits, leadership skills are highly trainable and transferrable across industries. This seminar is designed to provide participants with the knowledge of effective group leadership principles as well as a practical understanding of the most notable group dynamics underpinning social influence, effective and ineffective group decision making/problem solving, and how to manage the mechanics of group facilitation for a successful team. This seminar is highly self-reflective with a research-integrated and applied workday curriculum designed to encourage understanding of how leadership traits and styles are best adapted to group contexts to optimize team performance.
